Sign a Standard Agreement

Once a Project Sponsor's first Initial Application to the C&I Standard Offer Program is approved, the Project Sponsor receives within 30 days a Standard Agreement from CenterPoint Energy. Project Sponsors who bypass the Initial Application receive a Standard Agreement within 30 days of submittal of a Final Application. The Project Sponsor has 30 days to review the Standard Agreement and return it to CenterPoint Energy with the application deposit and notarized letter of intent. Project Sponsors are required to sign the Standard Agreement with CenterPoint Energy before proceeding with project development or measure installation.

The Standard Agreement is a general terms and conditions agreement between CenterPoint Energy and the Project Sponsor; it is not project-specific. The terms of the Standard Agreement are standard for all Project Sponsors.

Once the Standard Agreement is in place, the Project Sponsor can begin to work out the details of the project, which are required in the Final Application. The Final Application, described in the next step, must be submitted within 45 days of the Initial Application's approval for lighting projects and within 100 days for all other projects; otherwise, CenterPoint Energy may release the funds that had been reserved for the project.
